Red Wings-Blues Preview

GAME: Detroit Red Wings (56-15-8) at St. Louis Blues (21-44-14).

The Detroit Red Wings look to extend their NHL-record road winning streak to 12 games as they visit the St. Louis Blues.

Red Wings 2, Oilers 0

The Detroit Red Wings slowly skated to Manny Legace, tapping his pads with their sticks as if it was an ordinary victory - not the one clinching the best record in the NHL.

Legace made 29 saves and Kris Draper and Donald MacLean scored to help Detroit beat the Edmonton Oilers 2-0 on Tuesday night.

The Presidents' Trophy-winning Red Wings, with 118 points, will have home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs.

Red Wings 4, Blues 1

Steve Yzerman and the Detroit Red Wings just keep rolling along.

Yzerman scored his 690th goal to tie Mario Lemieux for eighth place on the career list and help the NHL-leading Red Wings clinch a playoff spot with a 4-1 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Monday night.

However, you won't hear Yzerman compare himself to Lemieux.

"I don't really know the significance," Yzerman said. "If anything, it shows how good (Lemieux) is; he played almost five years less than I did.
